The student residence and its surroundings.
The student residence Guckelsberg belongs to the Studentenwerk Saarland, which offers a variety of student accommodations. The residence is located in Saarbrücken-Dudweiler in a residental area, on the edge of the city forest. The HTW and the Saarland University are easy accessible by bus from the bus stops Hermann-Löns-Straße or Guckelsberg, which are located 5 and 10 minutes from the student residence.
The following busroutes lead to the HTW and the Saarland University:
– 101 direction Füllergarten Siedlung
- 102 direction Altenkessel Talstraße
- 136 direction Klinikum Saarbrücken
Routes that lead only to the Saarland University:
– 138 direction Römerkastell
– 163 direction Universität Busterminal

There are also public parking lots on the street for residents that own a car. A supermarket is located only 450 meters from the residence, there are more shops in Dudweiler citycenter.
Facilities of the student residence
In the basement there are a tv-room, a bar, a copy-room, a washing- room and bicycle storage space. On the top floor of the building there is a fully equipped kitchen, a tv- and community room and a PC with internet connection.
The rooftop can be accessed by the elevator of the residence. It offers a good view over Dudweiler city and invites in summer for sunbathing.
