The Sulzbach Hospital, as part of the Knappschaftsklinikum Saar GmbH, is a fundamental part of the Sulzbach district of Saarbrücken and is also an academic teaching hospital of Saarland University.

Specialist departments
The Sulzbach Clinic has 8 specialist medical departments: Anesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine, Ophthalmology, Surgery, Orthopedics, Trauma Surgery, Internal Medicine, Urology and Neurology. Furthermore, there is a nursing school and several special facilities such as the Institute for Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, the Saar Gastrointestinal Center.
In addition, the Sulzbach hospital functions as an MS focus center as well as a continence and pelvic floor center.
Location and surroundings
Sulzbach Hospital is located directly on the centrally located main road „An der Klinik“ and on Sulzbachtalstraße, which runs in the immediate vicinity of the hospital at a junction with the L126 in the direction of Saarbrücken/St. Ingbert. Therefore, it is very centrally located and is also in direct distance (90m) to the Sulzbach train station and various bus stops and is therefore easy to reach even for non-mobile people.
Furthermore, various stores such as banks, pharmacies, restaurants and retail stores are directly available within a radius of 500m.
Transport connections
The hospital is accessible by various means of public transport.
By train: You can take the train directly from Saarbrücken to Sulzbach and then it is only about 1 minute on foot to the hospital.
By bus: Bus lines 103 and 104 from Friedrichsthal, Spießen-Elversberg and Klarenthal via Saarbrücken, stop Johanneskirche/Rathaus, also go to the immediate vicinity of the hospital.
By car: Coming from the A8 from Neunkirchen or Saarlouis, you have to drive over the freeway junction Friedrichsthal onto the A623 and then take exit 3 (Sulzbach, Quierschied). Then follow the signs in the direction of Sulzbach. Coming from the direction of Saarbrücken, you must also take the A623 to exit 3 (Sulzbach, Quierschied) and from there follow the signs to Sulzbach.
Cafeteria
The hospital’s own cafeteria offers fresh, seasonal meals every day to also support sustainability.
The meals are not only intended for patients and employees, but are available to everyone. The current menu can be found online here (…).
The opening hours of the cafeteria are: Sunday – Friday from: 07:30 – 17:30 and Saturday from
07:30 – 14:00.
However, due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, the cafeteria is currently open for staff only.
Accessibility
The Sulzbach Clinic is accessible by public transportation such as bus and train, as well as having several handicapped parking spaces directly on site. The entrance to the clinic as well as the wards and patient rooms have also been designed without steps.
There are also public, barrier-free sanitary facilities for visitors.
Opening hours
As a hospital, there are no closing hours and thus it is open 24 hours a day.
However, due to the current situation of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, no visitors are currently allowed, which is urgent to note at this time.
