The student flats are located in Saarbrücken, the capital of Saarland, which is considered very student- and bicycle-friendly, making life very pleasant for students living here.
The building was built in 1965 and comprises 48 flats spread over 12 floors. Among them are 44 conventional flats and 4 student shared flats. This means that there is room for a total of 27 student flats. The Saarbrücker gemeinnützige Siedlungsgemeinschaft mbH is the responsible body for the complex.
Position
The student flat share is located in the small district of Eschberg in Saarbrücken. The Eschberg is about 2km east of the center of Saarbrücken and can be reached by car in about 15 minutes. In the large parking lot in front of the house there are also enough parking spaces to park your vehicle free of charge.
Transport connections
Saarbrücken’s main train station can be reached by car in about 15 minutes. If you do not have a car available, there is the bus line 105, which runs every one hour to the main station. It goes directly to the station without changing buses. Bus line 107 leaves from here every 30 minutes to Ilseplatz, the bus stop near the HTWsaar. From there, you can take bus line 109 directly to Saarland University.
Rooms and costs
There are two types of apartments in the building. Besides conventional apartments, student shared apartments are offered.
Shared apartments for students
Total number of apartments: 4 (12 parties)
Total living area: 86m²
Room equipment:
Bed with slatted frame & mattress, bedside table, closet, desk with integrated and space-saving shelf, desk chair.
Equipment of the common areas:
Kitchen: kitchenette with integrated refrigerator, oven, hob and extractor hood.
Dining area: dining place for 4 persons
Bathroom: shower, toilet and sink
There is also a distinction between two types of rooms. The small rooms have a total area of 14m². The monthly inclusive rent for this room type is 305€ and includes the flat rate for operating costs. The deposit is paid once and amounts to 480€.
The large rooms have a total area of 23m². The monthly inclusive rent here is a total of 345€ and the operating costs flat rate is also already included. The deposit of the large rooms is 600€ and is also paid once.
The student apartments are already painted and laid with a durable floor.
Is it possible to move into one of the shared flats with a fellow student?
Yes, it is possible to move into such a shared apartment with one person. For this purpose, everyone gets his own lease for his room and the shared space.
But even without predetermined roommates, you are welcome to move into one of the shared apartments. In this case, the remaining roommates will be searched by the house management.
Accessibility
With regard to accessibility, as residents of the complex, some precautions must be taken in advance, as the bathrooms in the apartments have standard showers with raised floors.
However, when entering the building and the apartments as a visitor, full accessibility and usability for all people is ensured. The driveway and entrance are step-free, thus providing adequate access into the building for visitors with a physical impairment.
For information processing, mainly visual and no separate acoustic information sources are used.
