The Saarland University’s central Student Advisory Service is the point of contact for all matters relating to questions and advice regarding the choice of studies in general, a degree without a university entrance qualification, the degree programmes offered by the university (Bachelor/Master/Further and Advanced Training and its structure, content and requirements, the course of study, the financing of training, the compatibility of studies and professional activity, or the study in part-time or second degree, as well as information on the topic of reorientation, change of subject, study problems or the phase-out of studies. The counselling centre also helps and supports the student at the beginning of their studies, such as the preparation of the timetable. However, mentoring programmes are also offered through this position in order to help and accompany students with their familiarization and orientation. The office and the way to this is completely barrier-free and suitable for wheelchair users.

The advice centre offers 45-minute counselling appointments by appointment, as well as a short consultation in the open consultation hour without prior registration Monday – Friday from 11:00 – 12:00.
At present, these consultations are coronaconditionally only online via MS Teams Videochat, by phone at 0681-302 3513 ( Mon-Wed and Fri from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 13:00 to 15:00 and Thu: 11:00 – 12:00 and 13:00 – 15:00) or, in exceptional cases, presence on site under the prescribed and current safety and hygiene regulations. Location
The Student Advisory Centre is located in the Campus Center A4 4 building complex on the ground floor. The entrance is directly at the bus stop University Campus. Enter the building through the „Campus center“ glass door and go through another glass door along the hallway and left behind the stairs. Now you just have to press the bell and enter.

In the immediate vicinity of the office of the Student Advisory Service there is a bus stop („Universität Campus“), a small student café, a hairdresser, the Student Office, the SULB (Saarländische Universitäts- und Landesbibliothek) and the AStA, the KHG Café and the AC Saarbrücken, which is a small restaurant.
Arrival by bus:
You can easily get to the study counselling centre by bus. The bus lines run alternately and regularly: 102, 136, 101, 138, 150, 163 (only on lecture days), 320 and the AStA shuttle bus from the city, Neunkirchen, Dudweiler, and the Saarbrücken Hospital to the university.
These buses stop at the Universität Campus stop, which is located directly in front of the entrance to the Studienberatungsstelle building ( Campus Center).
The bus lines 124 and 112 only go to the stop Universität Busterminal, from where you can take another approx. 5-10 minutes to the counselling centre.
Arrival by car
You drive out of town via the Meewiesertalweg to the multi-storey car park Uni Mitte ( Address: Stuhlsatzenhausweg, 66123 Saarbrücken ( 1 hour free, after that 1 hour – 1 euro parking fees). From there, walk straight through the main entrance of the campus and turn right at the large lawn square ( A-Forum). From there you walk along the street and after a café, small shops and a hairdresser you will find the Campus Center (Student Advice Centre) on the right, in the vicinity of the bus stop „University Campus“.
