The old St. Ingbert district hospital was put into operation in 1927. In 1957, the district council decided to build a new hospital, which was completed after seven years of construction. Further restructuring and modernisation of the district hospital took place in the years following the new building. In 1994, the district hospital became a non-profit limited liability company. Shortly afterwards, the geriatric rehabilitation clinic opened there and a health park was built directly at the district hospital. In 2006, a centre for prevention and health promotion was also opened.
The affiliated geriatric rehabilitation clinic with a day clinic also belongs to the St. Ingbert district hospital.
